Fried empanada dough

Today is the perfect opportunity to learn how to make your own authentic fried empanada dough. A foolproof classic that turns out perfectly crispy and ready to be filled with your favorite filling.

Ingredientes
  

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 100 gramos butter o margarina (unsalted)
  • 1/2 Cda. salt
  • 1/4 taza orange juice
  • 1 entero egg
  • 60 cc water

Equipo

  • Multiprocesadora Se puede hacer todo en una procesadora de alimentos.
  • Palote o rodillo
  • Molde cortante

Method
 

  1. Sift the flour with the salt, place it in a bowl, add the butter and take with your hands, mixing well until you get a fine wet sandy texture.
  2. Add the orange juice, the egg and water as needed; knead until you get a very silky dough.
  3. Wrap it in film or place in a plastic bag. let it rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Next, roll out the dough with a rolling pin, sprinkling the work surface with flour as need it to prevent sticking. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or a small plate.
  5. Stack-up with partchment paper as separator in between each disc or use immediately.
